Thanks to JPL Solar System Ambassador Brittney Hughes, we were invited to bring the map to Kyrene de la Mariposa Elementary School in Tempe, AZ on March 6th, 2019 for the school's annual Astronomy Night. Because the school's activity center was too small for the map, we displayed it outdoors in the school's parking lot. Thanks to many parent and student volunteers, we were able to set up the foam mat in less than an hour and had the map ready by the time families started to arrive. We ran out of scavenger hunt binders multiple times that night, since so many students wanted to try finding the major features on Mars. Unfortunately, the parking lot did not have lights, but that didn't stop the kids from finishing their scavenger hunts at the end of the evening. Many borrowed their parents' phones and used them as flashlights to find their remaining sites!
